A PRIMARY school teacher surprised his new bride - and their wedding guests - when he enlisted the help of his pupils for a musical surprise.
The romantic groom wrote a special love song and recruited his pupils in Scotland, to help perform it on the couple's big day.
Lee introduced the choir during his post-ceremony speech, where he joked about loved ones repeatedly telling him he was 'punching above his weight' with his new wife.
Pupils were let in on the joke as they held up pictures of boxing gloves backed by Lee on acoustic guitar.
By the time the youngsters had finished, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
'Even the children are still on a high from their special guest performance and want to talk about it in school and tell their classmates.'
'It was a secret kept from everyone, nobody at our wedding knew of it.'
'The only folk who knew of it were obviously the staff at The Waterside who did a great job with helping with the surprise and our photographer and videographer.'
It was not the first time that primary school teacher Lee had shown his romantic side - with Katy revealing that he had previously written her a song for his proposal.
'Lee took me to Loch Fyne for a surprise weekend. Just before we went for dinner he said he had a surprise for me.'
'He sat me down, blindfolded me and put headphones on. He'd recorded me a beautiful song and the last line was 'will you marry me?'.
'I took off the blindfold and he had filled the room with roses and was down on one knee.
'I couldn't believe it - the kids were amazing. Their singing was beautiful and they looked so excited.'
'I was blown away by the fact that they had come along on during their school holidays and all the hard work they'd put into preparing. It shows just how much they think of Lee.'
Lee admitted he was hugely relieved after completing the song and that he was immensely proud of his pupils.
He added: 'It took me a while to write the song. I went through maybe three or four ideas for songs, but I wasn't happy with them so they were scrapped.
'I was extremely nervous. It was a year or so of planning falling into place, I just had to trust that everything was running to plan
and that the children would be stood behind the glass partition as it opened.'
'The children were an absolute credit to themselves and they really did me proud, they gave up a day of their summer holidays to sing at our wedding in their school uniform
I really cannot thank them enough'
